Carved in Stone
Marissa Rideout was an 'unexpected' child. Born fifteen years after the youngest of her three brothers, her early years are that of a spoiled princess.
Everything changes when her father suffers yet another in a series of strokes, followed by the deaths, two years apart, of her two oldest brothers, both killed in Vietnam.
A distracted and grief-stricken mother and a toxic relationship cause her to make choices that lead to consequences the teenager could never have foreseen.
Many years later, after a life of misery, she yearns to reunite with her mother and her brother's four children. Plagued by doubt and guilt, she takes the first tenuous steps but can a family heal from years of estrangement, a generation gap, addiction, and the tragedy that tore them apart?
