Carnage in D minor A young black girl from the South dreams of becoming a renowned concert pianist, but her aspirations are crushed by the tragic death of her single mother. Through years of emotional trauma, she struggles with societal demands and expectations. At risk of losing her family and livelihood, she bravely and aggressively confronts her mental health challenges in the hopes of creating the life she and her mother had imagined. A note from the writer: This screenplay is a version of my award-winning screenplay "Dissension" (also available on Amazon). I dedicated that story to my brother and sister-in-law, Stan and Nancy, who are both Army veterans. This version tells the story of the character I always wanted to write about: The African American, female, gay soldier who embodies the idea of courage through adversity, perseverance through endless challenges, and in the end, the ability to see the beauty through the carnage. I've known people like her, and that inspiration is what keeps me going. And as I said before, the other crap in this tale: drugs, sex, crime and debauchery... well, that's on me. ...Stacey
