An impressionable and deeply moving narrative

Sue Ann Smith's debut novel Carly's Calling is the poignant story of Carly, a young girl who is at first terrified by a nighttime spiritual visitor. Yet a far worse threat to her body and spirit comes from her mother, a woman who is pathologically jealous of the bond between her daughter and her husband. The spirit teaches Carly about how to transform her pain into a greater growth and understanding.
