"Caribbean Medical Schools: A Journey and Guide" is written by a recent graduate of a Caribbean Medical school. He takes you through the entire process including: admission, financial aid, USMLE tests, clinical rotations, work visas, and how to get a residency in the United States. Statistics show that 50 out of 100 American Pre-Med students do not gain admission into medical school in the U.S., and 85 out of 100 Canadian Pre-Med students do not gain admission into medical school in Canada. Many students give up on their dream of becoming a physician. But you don't have to! There is a completely reasonable and proven alternative to American and Canadian medical schools. Caribbean Medical Schools offer the first two years of medical school in the Caribbean and the third and fourth years of medical school at hospitals in the U.S. or Canada. After graduation you can obtain post graduate training in the U.S.! Get step by step information on the entire process, all in this book!
This book gives you a great behind the scenes look into Caribbean Medical Schools. Being a not so great standardized test taker myself, the MCAT should and will not determine whether or not you get into medical school. Don't sell yourself short, and never give up on your dream because of the competition in the U.S. or Canada. Med school is med school. It's as simple as Undergraduate colleges and SAT scores. Dr. Asad Raza gives legitimate reasons for attending Caribbean Medical Schools. Do not sit around and wait extra semesters or years just to try to please some of these Admissions committees. This book is logical, education, and for the student who wants to attend a Caribbean Medical School and practice in the U.S. He goes over the Pros and Cons of attending such a school, but believe me, he has no regrets and has received a great education from SABA University. He breaks down the number of spots available in residences, the cost & tuition of such schools, and how to go through the USMLE process in order to pass boards. I strongly recommend this book for someone who might have a lower MCAT or a average science or cumulative GPA. Many of the people who attend medical school are of older age, and many have diverse backgrounds such as other jobs, countries, families, etc. He also recommends which schools are the best to apply to! [...] Definately a must read, and remember this book makes you realize to go for your dream of becoming a physician.

The graduates of some overseas medical schools are not accepted for licensing by some states in the United States. This book explains it. You can go through years of medical training and find yourself unable to work in the state that you desired. Read this book BEFORE you choose an overseas medical school.
