This book presents 125 actual cardiology cases in the unique Pearls format. Each case is presented by a brief clinical description, followed by a physical examination, laboratory findings, and a radiograph. The reader is then asked to formulate a diagnosis and/or a treatment plan. The next page reveals the diagnosis, provides a clear discussion, distills three or four pearls of practice from each case, and presents several key references.Completely revised and updated with the addition of 25 new casesProblem-solving approach challenges the reader Provides valuable information not readily available in standard textbooks Ideal for self-study and board review Written by two expert cardiologistsClinical pearls distill critical information Instructive and controversial
This was well-written, concise, well-referenced, and contained practical as well as rare cardiology cases. EKGs, echo results, and other studies are included where relevent, and the discussions are brief yet thorough. It was a nice companion to my 4th year clinical cardiology clerkship.
