The only definitive text on cardiac anaesthesia is back in a new edition Dr. Kaplan and a multitude of other eminent specialists have completely updated and revised the 5th Edition of this definitive text on cardiac anesthesia. I think this book is wonderful. It is probably the best source for information on anesthesia management of congenital heart diseases, perioperative management of ischemia and ventricular failure. It is a 1999 edition, so there are a few points which need to be updated in view of recent advances in both drugs and surgical procedures, but I would still recommend this book to all the prospective cardiac anesthesiologists.
The standard work in this field.

The interesting thing about this book is that it is read by everyone in the field of cardiac anesthesia. When discussing a subject, many people refer to what is written in this book, so you really need it! The book is easy to use because of the clear language and the modest amount of information on a subject.
