This is the second volume in a series coordinated by Mexican Academy of Catalysis (ACAT) to disclose the essence of catalysis. Essential techniques are presented in this book for the characterization of catalysts and the understanding of their performance. This text brought together more than twenty specialists from six prestigious institutions of Mexico, associated with the main characterization techniques used for the analysis and study of catalytic materials. The technical review was conducted by several reviewers who contributed their experiences on the synthesis and determination of the physicochemical properties of various catalysts. All with the aim of presenting understandable to those who venture into this area, also relevant for those who wish to deepen their knowledge in the characterization of heterogeneous catalysis.
