The book, Captured by Their Past, is a book of fiction. It is about the mysterious murder of John Brown, a 60 years old writer who lives in London. The main character of the book is Mike Smith, who is a friend of John Brown. Mike decides to visit his friend one Saturday and, while they are having dinner with John's children, John and Brown, John dies when he drinks a cup of whisky where there is arsenic. His son John is accused of having killed his father and he is arrested, but Mike, who is a lawyer, is not going to permit that he goes to prison, so he is going to defend John during the trial, discover the truth and send the real criminal or criminals to prison.
