love the series!

Great series and I loved that 3 of the books got released at the same time...now the only question is when are we getting the fourth?!!

Loving me some Max and Charlotte!

I can't say enough good things about this book. It was every bit as good as the first two. I love Max and Charlotte together. And Max? He is tough, scary, loyal, and oh so vulnerable. I read somewhere, maybe on Ms. Gideon's website, that there are 3 more books to this series. I can't wait.

Fun Adult Paranomal!

This is the third book in the trilogy. I read the first book, Masked by Moonlight and enjoyed it. I think that this book is even better than the first. I didn't get to read the middle book, but it wasn't absolutely necessary to read this book. This one is more about the relationship between CeeCee and Max. Yes, of course, you have the adventure of someone stalking and trying to kill Max and those close to him, but that really becomes the side story to the relationship. In one way this was delightful. We get to see both characters having to overcome their insecurities that have come about through extraordinary circumstances. In another way, there were times I wanted to smack both of their heads together. They both knew that the other was the only one that they could have and did trust with everything they held secret. So, when they refused to let the other in on what was currently going on within them I wanted to scream. It just seemed so unnecessary when the big stuff seemed to be out of the way. However, it also made sense considering neither knew how to trust anyone else in their lives. If you read any of the other books, you will enjoy this book a lot. CeeCee is still her wonderful snarky self. Max still knows exactly how to raise her hackles. So, there is a lot of fun within the book. If you haven't read any of the books, you can read this one and it will stand alone, but I do suggest you read at least the first book. It holds a lot of the background that makes some of the references make a lot of sense. Plus, although this is the 3rd in this trilogy, there is enough left open that there could be more in the series. I give this adult book 4 stars.

Hardened yet surprising emotional characters make for an involving romance in this paranormal suspense novel. Both Detective Caissie (AKA Cee Cee) and shifter Max Savoie have a rocky relationship. Neither is good at emotions but both love each other and are willing to compromise. However, Cee Cee's life is the police force and Max is the new mob boss after his mentor Jimmy died. Seemingly polar opposites, they must face distrust and adversity to solve a murder without ruining their fragile relationship. One of Max's young friends is savagely tortured. Then Max is hunted by the mysterious and deadly group known as the Trackers. Soon both their lives are at peril. This story is gritty and realistic as both characters must make hard choices. What I enjoyed most about it was the developing relationship between the 2 main characters. They both were surprising vulnerable. Cee Cee and Max are cynical and deadly in their own right and it was great to read how they were only able to open up to each other. Both had very traumatic childhoods which are further explored and added to the depth the storyline. The addition of the Trackers made it very interesting. However, I had expected this story to conclude the series. While they are together at the end their relationship is not exactly stable and there are many unanswered questions that I feel the author left hanging for a possible future book?! An exciting continuation of an original shape-shifter series

Captured By Moonlight is the third installment of Nancy Gideon's Moonlight series. Max Savoie, a pureblood shape-shifter, is settling in as the new crime boss of New Orleans and king of the city's shifter population. The love of his life is the very human police detective Cee Cee Caissie. Max and Cee Cee are emotionally damaged characters, consumed by a forbidden, passionate and very dangerous relationship. In this book there is a depth to the characters we haven't seen before. You can feel their anguish as they battle to love and protect each other and stay true to themselves. The story is dark, suspenseful and action-packed. After a young shifter is tortured and killed by what could only be supernatural means, Max knows he is being hunted by powerful shifters from the north sent to destroy him, the same ones his father warned him about. He soon discovers a family secret and realizes there is another shifter being targeted, one he must protect at all costs. The action leads to a thrilling and heart wrenching climax. The story's conclusion was satisfying but left some questions unanswered, leaving an opening for future books in the series. Captured By Moonlight is an original shape-shifter tale that fans of paranormal romance will enjoy. The author does a good job providing background information from the first two Moonlight books, but readers would enjoy this one more if the series was read in order.
