An incredible love story!

This is one of those books I keep on my bookshelf and after I've read a few stinkers and need a good read, I pick it up and read it again. I've read this book several times because I know I'm in for a good read. It was my first time travel I've read, though I've only read a few, and it is also one of my favorite all time historical romance novels. I am unable to put it down when I read it and it seems to get better each time. A truly wonderful love story between Xavier and Alex. Read it! You won't be disappointed.

One of her best!

One of Brenda Joyce's best, up to the Francesca Cahill novels! I love the challenge in the relationship; when Xavier finds out Alex is not the person he thinks she is, it's not "That's okay, I'll love you anyway." There is a lot of distrust, yet having to work together and respect each other in spite of that.It's true to an extent that she's a little annoying with the whining and the panic, but after she's done panting, she thinks on her feet and flies into action. She's no feminazi "I can do it all by myself" kind of heroine, and that humanness in her makes her one of my favourites.

"Captive"-ating!

A very original story and strong characters. The plot moves smoothly, except for one scene at the end that may seem unrealistic to some. But, overall this is a suspenseful, exciting and feel-good novel. My thanx to Mrs. Joyce for a good read!

Captive Was Captivating

ONE OF THE BEST SOTRY LINES I'VE EVER READ I WAS SURPRISED AND DELIGHTED. THIS BOOK WAS NOT ONE OF YOUR TYPICL ROMANCE NOVELS, I LOVE TIME TRAVELS. I COUNLD'NT AT ONE POINT STOP READING, YOU WANNA KNOW WHATS GOING ON NEXT, YOU WANNA KNOW HOW ALEX IS GOING TO ESCAPE AND HELP LOVE OF HER LIFE EVEN THOUGH SHE REALLY JUST MET HIM, NOT ONLY DOES SHE HAVE TO ESCAPE BUT SHE HAS TO CHANGE HISTORY AS SHE KNOWS IT IN ODER TO BE TOGETHER. IT WAS VERY CAPTIVATING, I LOVED IT.

I couldn't put it down!

The storyline is very original and the vivid descriptions and complex characters are never boring or predictable. I'm definitely going to read the sequel.
