I really enjoyed this book when I was younger. It's been years since it was lost, but it left such an impression on my memory that I'm back to look for it. It introduces Lam Lao, a cynical smuggler who gets mixed up with a fight that is not his own. (Sound like anyone else you know?)Actually, the thing I remember liking about this book is that it's a little more realistic than a lot of other 'Christian' fiction. It doesn't resort to /deus ex machina/ to solve every problem. (Granted, it has a measure of that.) It actually lets the good guys suffer--and wrestle with that suffering. (Robin Hardy's _Annals of Lystra_ series is similar in that respect.) Of course, I was only a kid (albeit a precocious one) when I read it, so I'm sure I'll find it a little more predictable as an adult. Even so, I plan to buy a copy and read it again.
Great Christian Book

Captive Planet is a great book. Gregory Smith did a great job writing a Christian book. He managed to combine Christianity and Science Fiction to make a great book. Usually, you don't think that it is possible to do that. It is also a great story about salvation and acceptance know mattar what you did in the past. It is a great science fiction book also. You want to know what happens and if Lam Lao and his friends survive and how.
