Slashing Swords, Flashing Puns

More fun than "Bored of the Rings" and more puns than "Rocky and Bullwinkle". If you like swords and sorcery stories, but have a sense of humor about them, you'll enjoy this book. Read it for both the swordplay and the wordplay.

Perfect combo of adventure, comedy, and mystery

Although the cover art is ghastly, you should not judge this book by it. This is fantasy adventure at its finest, with beautifully comic twists. This book has its fair share of puns, but the comic elements never overshadow the main plot, which is pleasantly straight-forward: an evil dragon convinces a scorned wizard to destroy the world, and our 3 heroes must stop him, hindered by an awkward prince. This is the first book in the series (of 2), but the world has enough hinted-at history to be highly textured. The author tends towards one-word sentences, but is otherwise quite good. I look forward to other books.
