Captain Kirk saved my marriage!

My wife just got me Captain Kirk's Guide to Women for Valentine's Day, and I LOVE my new book. I'm kind of a Trek fan, not really a Trekkie, and I don't know the show nearly as well as many of the people that will read this book. It doesn't matter- this book actually has genuine insights in it, and has moments that genuinely inspire. The Author has a snappy, up-beat style, and while much of the book is dressed in "Trek-ness", there's always some real, solid, practical point to the chapters. I haven't yet had a chance to put much of Mr. Rodriquez's wisdom to work yet (I just got it yesterday), but I'm pleased to say that this is a real, insightful, hilarious read, and makes the PERFECT gift for guys. At least, it was the perfect gift for me, even though I don't really understand the difference between a Klingon and a Romulan.

Now I am a Captain.

My girlfriend got me this book. It's her name on the account. I am a man. I did not take it personally when she said I could use some help. This guy ",Bones," does a great job of breaking down the Star Trek universe and creating an applicable technique for how to get what you want. In this case it is chicks but you can easily have fun applying the ideas to every other obstacle. More fun than Tony Roberts but equally as useful. Check it!

A MUST-READ!!!

Couldn't put it down. This is THE Must-Read book of the year! Insight, humor, factoids, Trekisms and enough honest, helpful information to appeal to non-Trekers. If you're going to read only one book this year, "Captain Kirk's Guide to Women is the one to read. "So Say We All!" (uh...sorry)

My Husband Loves It

My husband is a Trekkie, and when I saw this, I knew he would dig it. I ended up reading it too, and thought it was funny, even though there are lots of references in there that only my husband understood! I like that the book is not about dating games or pick up lines (although, in the back, there is a section called "Top Pick-Up Lines from the 23rd Century") it's more about what makes guys, and Kirk, so attractive. At the same time, it's not too geeky- what I mean is, it doesn't take itself too seriously. I was going to give it to my husband for valentine's day, but I couldn't wait!

Your Love Life Isn't Dead, Jim!

Bones Rodriguez is a writer, dammit, not a doctor. But he's sure got the RX for what ails your romance that the Great Bird Of The Universe himself would appreciate, endorse, and give a hearty split-fingered salute to if he was still around to do so! This book is, if I may say so, Vulcan great! Not every man can be James Tiberius Kirk, but EVERY man can LEARN from him--and not just how to bluff out a Klingon which is, we must all admit, a somewhat seldomly-called-for skill in our daily lives. Becoming more "enterprising" in romance, relationships, and how to woo females of various species on the other hand is an arena that makes the one on Triskellion look like a toddler's crib, and going into that battle in this or any galaxy unprepared and untutored by Kirk, or, via his interpreter, Bones Rodriguez, would be a typical Academy midshipman's mistake. Don't. Its really quite simple: The needs of the many men to find the way into the hearts and minds of their women can only be solved by the skills of the few...or the one...and only Captain Kirk. Jean-Luc? Eat your heart out. If YOU want YOUR "love phaser" to be set on "stunning", you simply have to buy, read, digest, and LIVE the teachings of this book. PS to WOMEN! If you think this book isn't for you, consider that since it is destined for best-seller status pronto, you should probably study its contents like a cadet learning the Kobiyashi Maru scenario...and, by the way, you will find a happy truth here, too: Women...and men...from all corners of the Galaxy are, at the core, sisters and brothers under the skin--even if it's green. Just as the essential Humanity (big H, not species-specific) of "Star Trek" boldly went far beyond the science fiction of its stories, so do this book's insights into relationships, love, and, yes, the best parts of lust also transcend the light-years that have been between us for too, too long. If you seek romance, shipmates, then this book is...and always will be...your friend. Love long and prosper with it! (Or don't, and remain the confused and lonely little shuttlecraft your Mom thinks you are now!)
