"I'm not kissing you!"

Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), a young man during World War II, dreams of joining the military but is classified as 4F. He’s not driven by a desire to kill Nazis but rather to stand up to bullies. Thanks to Dr. Abraham Erskine (Stanley Tucci), who enhances him with injections and blue light energy, Steve gains incredible abilities. The real question becomes: will he use them for good, evil, or something trivial? Most people are familiar with the story of "Captain America" through comics or TV shows, so we all have expectations of what he should be doing as a superhero. But if you set those aside and watch the movie for what it is, you’ll find it entertaining and fast-paced, with moments of reflection, like when Steve gazes into Peggy Carter’s (Hayley Atwell) eyes, imagining a different world. With a hint of cynicism, it feels like this movie provides roles for out-of-work actors. There are familiar faces and potential new favorites. Tommy Lee Jones, although showing his age, reminds us of his memorable role in "Volcano." Hugo Weaving’s portrayal of the Crimson Skull brings to mind "The Lord of the Rings." Sadly, Stanley Tucci’s part is too brief because he’s such a versatile actor—check him out in “Undercover Blues.” I only watched the Blu-ray version, so I can’t comment on other formats. However, the credits reveal this is just the beginning of a series.
