UPDATED JULY 2021 - People visiting the Atlantic seaboard should consider the three islands of Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket as a place to vacation any time of the year. These are near the city of Boston and the area that is rich in the history of our nation and its people that settled there, and thus this book includes places that one visiting may want to see. BEST TIMES TO GO Although late spring, summer, and early fall are the best times, there still is plenty to do in the winter. It is just that winter attractions are different from the tourists' season attractions, and thus most travel to the cape in warmer weather when the majority of attractions are open for your pleasure. ATTRACTIONS: This touring guide provides over a hundred attractions to visit during the touring season, and includes not just the three islands but the three mainland attractions as well, i.e. Plymouth Rock, Salem, and Plymouth Village. INCLUDED: Many people that visit Massachusetts are there for only a few days and therefore wish to see all they can of the area's attractions. The author has included Salem, Plymouth, and the nearby islands in the manual, and the book's title depicts this in bold letters. BEACHES: The cape has dozens of beaches, but not all are suitable for swimming due to the water temperatures, water quality, and water roughness; this book describes these for your safety. Where known, the author also includes information on the parking spaces at each location, and the other facilities that are at each. CAMPING & TRAILS: There is limited camping, although there are several great hiking trails on Cape Cod; many are listed in this manual. The manual also provides you with RV camping locations. EV CHARGE STATIONS: When the book was written there were very few EV charging stations, and therefore only one is listed, it is at Plimoth Plantation. HISTORY: Each of the attractions you might want to visit has a description, address, & GPS provided. If there is history and a known date of that history, it too is included. LIGHTHOUSES: If you are a fan of lighthouses, there are a few that are available for your touring. NO - NOs: Places like Winter Island have restrictions that you must obey, this manual provides a look at some of the many laws and restrictions that you might want to know about, before making an expensive error. PARKING LOTS: When going to Cape Cod and especially to Provincetown, you may find it difficult to find parking, this manual shows you where you can. RAILROADS: There are some railroad tours and railroad museums for your pleasure. NOT INCLUDED: The manual does not include restaurants, motels, hotels, and tours as these number hundreds and many frequently change hands and names, or go in and out of business. The attractions provided are reasonably stable and are the mainstay of each community's revenue. AUTHOR: The author has spent several days in Cape Cod visiting many of the attractions, but not all. A good portion of this book is due to weeks of Internet & Google Maps(TM) research. Enjoy...
