The Cape cobra (Naja nivea), also known as the yellow cobra is a moderate-sized, exceptionally venomous types of cobra possessing a wide variety of biomes across southern Africa including arid savanna, fynbos, bushveld, desert and semi-desert districts. The species is diurnal and is a feeding generalist, preying on various species and carrion. Predators of this species include birds of prey, nectar badgers and different types of mongoose.
