Canine Caper: Stolen Shelter Dog

By Lynda Murray

Chip was so cute and cuddly and irresistible. He was smuggled out of the Des Moines County Humane Society, the only home he had ever known. His theft rocked the town of Burlington, Iowa located on the shores of the Mississippi river. Stealing a helpless three pound pup tore at the heart of pet lovers nationwide. Based on a true story, this book highlights the cost of pet ownership and stresses the importance of micro-chipping. A must-read for first time dog owners. A portion of each book sold goes to the Des Moines County Animal Shelter
