"Can You Hear the Monkey" is a very well-written masterpiece. Kevin's expression through each poem painted a picture of emotions that could be felt by every reader. You are engulfed within the sorrow of his addictions, and pleasured with the Love of his family. This book tells of an incredible man who struggled with his life, but found Love in himself and others. I only wish everyone as fortunate as I to have known the man behind the monkey. His words are alive within each of us, and his heart and soul will live forever in San Francisco. I miss you Kevin. Love Always, Molly

Kevin shares his most innermost thoughts and feelings with the reader. The deepest despair of an addict and the heights of a man capable of incredible Love are brought to life in this book. It is a book you can cry with as you relate to the turmoil that consumes many of us.Then you feel and yearn for the asounding Love that Kevin describes . Kevin Seely loved and was loved by many people in his life. His incredible gentleness and acceptance of all people made a difference in our lives. He had a great capacity to Love and to share emotions and he gave of himself freely.I Loved Kevin Seely the man and knew the Love he was capable of.Kevin died this week.I will miss his reading poetry to me. His warmth, touch, laugh, and genuine caring. The way his eyes lighted up when he saw me. Only God knows what words are left unsaid. I only know that I will never see a sunset,a star, hear a brook, listen to blues music, see a person down on their luck, see a child,or reach out to help another person; without Kevin there- helping me and guiding me to help my fellow man. Saying I will miss him is an understatement. Goodbye Handsome- you are soaring in the clouds now....May you feel my Love thru all eternity.....Jeanne

I recently went to a reading In Coeur d'Alene Idaho and heard Kevin Seely read from his book "Can you hear The Monkey...I just happened by the store he was at and glad I stopped in. I found his work to be very powerful. Also he shared with those of us present, some new poems from his next book, "Come down from the trees", this was a nice surprise. I bought several copies for friends who I know can appreciate Kevin's style of expression. great job!
