Campus Old Stories: Dream of the Dragon

By Yongjin Li

Campus Old Stories - Dream of the Dragon This work blends poetry with reality, telling the story of a pure and determined girl, Raya Eyre, who journeys to a seaside town to support a rural primary school. Through her eyes, a vivid yet desolate picture unfolds-breathtaking coastal scenery contrasts with the quiet struggles and shadows of rural education. With sharp yet dreamlike prose, the author portrays the town's beauty while uncovering its stagnation and absurdity, exposing the intricate ties between education, faith, and money. Dilapidated classrooms, wandering children, and silent sighs-each detail reflects the stark inequities of the educational system and deeper societal contradictions. Raya Eyre's experience mirrors the aspirations and struggles of countless young people. She carries a heartfelt vision for change, striving to brighten neglected corners of the world. Yet, as she confronts setbacks, she begins to question the nature of ideals and the complexities of reality. Her persistence and self-reflection become a flicker of light, illuminating forgotten spaces and reigniting dormant hope. This is more than a critique of rural education; it is a powerful exploration of the collision between ideals and reality. Readers will walk alongside Raya Eyre, reflecting on the true meaning of educational fairness, personal growth, and the connection between self and society. ""Campus Old Stories - Dream of the Dragon"" is for every young soul with ambition and resolve. It inspires introspection and courage.
