Cambridge Poetry values work that not only reads well but also sounds, looks, and feels well. To us, how words feel in the mouth, appear to the eye, and resonate with our experience is as important as how they read on the page. We don't believe all work has to be perfect. Merely fascinating or magical in some way is enough.
This doesn't mean work has to be experimental or strange - though we love that too. We want the shape, rhythm, and experience of words to be meaningful and powerful. Our philosophy embraces everything from perfectly formed Shakespearean sonnets to avant-garde calligrams - simplicity, too, is its own form of beauty.
In Cambridge Poetry you will find not only poems but also submissions of artwork, short prose, illustrations, and experimental poetry formats - whatever sparks interest and inspiration and we welcome submissions from new and unpublished writers just as much as from established voices.
