The purpose of this book is to elicit hope and healing for children that have recently migrated to the United States. By sharing my experience, when I was younger, I hope to create a hero or heroine in which young children can identify with. In "Telling our own story: The role in narrative in racial healing" it explained how for years narration are created to reinforce the way we view the world. By writing this book I hope to be a change agent for children and challenge the pre-determined world view for them and allow them to seek power and make a change in their lives.
