There was a 5 gallon jar of the stuff and it went so fast she had to keep refilling it! Arlen's cocktails not only look amazing, I can guarantee there won't be a dry glass at your next party. This caribbean inspired book is perfect for the summer - the drinks are delicious, easy to make and will give you lots of great ideas for both food and drink for BBQ's, pool parties and more. It's a great gift for anyone who's tired of plain beer and wine and wants to learn how to make a fabulous cocktail.

As Good to Get as to Give

I received this delightful book as a gift. The recipes are clear and easy to follow, and the resulting drinks and appetizers are delicious and festive. Family members and friends rave about their favorites; they ask for recipes. Now I'm giving the book as a gift myself.

Warm and Inviting

I first looked at this book on the rainiest day the Northeast has seen in 100 years, and all I could feel were the warm breezes, hot sun and relaxed atmosphere of the Caribbean. These easy recipes, affectionate writing and colorful photos invoke a vacation state of mind like you wouldn't believe. I immediately tried the easy toasted garbanzo beans with a caribbean cosmo and didn't have a care in the world. If you are a fan of tropical drinks as well as snacks made with local caribbean flavors, this book will hit the spot.

Super Fun and Yummy

I purchased this book recently for an outdoor party in Los Angeles. We had so much fun makeing drinks and serving them to our friends. I really enjoyed the fresh ingredients and easy to follow recipies. I will be keeping it on hand for all my gatherings. Thank You.

Doing her magic again!

I'm a huge fan of Arlen Gargagliano's cocktail and tapas books. I expected nothing less from her last one "Calypso Coolers" than from her previous, "Mambo Mixers." The reason I enjoy reading, looking at and certainly not least, trying her recipes is that Arlen obviously has a true love for the creative process as well as the final savoring stage (surely the most fun!) of cooking. This comes across clearly in her wonderful tropical selections and descriptions. This collection of Caribbean cocktails and party snacks will tickle the fancy of home cooks as well as discriminating epicureans (such as myself). Last Easter weekend, I put several of her drinks and hors d'oeuvres to the test. Needless to say, my ever-demanding family and group of friends were extremely pleased. Kudos were flying. I almost didn't want to give my 'secret' recipes away. But being the fan I am, that would not have been fair to this author's efforts.
