Called to the Battle: A 21-Day Deborah Fast & Prayer Devotional

By Favour Zannie

Some battles are only won when you fast, pray, and arise.
For twenty years, an entire nation cowered under the oppression of a military commander named Sisera and his nine hundred iron chariots. The roads were abandoned. The villages were silent. The people of God had stopped fighting. Then one woman stood up. Her name was Deborah. And when she arose, heaven moved, armies mobilised, and the enemy who had terrorised Israel for a generation was destroyed in a single day.

Called to the Battle is a 21-day fasting and prayer devotional built on the story of Deborah in Judges 4-5, designed for women in spiritual warfare who are ready to stop surviving and start conquering. Written by Warrior - a survivor of abuse turned prophetic voice, pastor, and founder of Chayil Warrior Woman International Ministries in Kampala, Uganda - this devotional was forged on real battlefields, not written from the sidelines.

Each of the 21 days includes:
The Word - An anchor scripture to carry throughout the day
The War Briefing - A battle-focused devotional teaching packed with multiple scripture references
Fast Focus - A specific fasting instruction accessible to all levels (food, media, habits, and attitudes)
Battle Strategy - A warfare prayer or spiritual assignment (anointing your home, writing a decree, breaking agreements)
The Deborah Moment - A daily connection to Deborah's story to anchor the fast
War Room Journal Prompt - A reflection question for personal journaling and spiritual processing

The 21-day journey follows a strategic arc:
Days 1-3: Answering the Call - Hearing God say "Arise" and responding through consecration
Days 4-7: The Enemy's Strategy - Identifying Sisera: the strongholds, patterns, and powers opposing you
Days 8-11: Deborah's Boldness - Stepping into prophetic boldness and supernatural authority
Days 12-14: The Barak Principle - Moving forward even without full reinforcement
Days 15-18: On the Way to the Battle - Intercession in motion, warring while walking
Days 19-20: Jael's Moment - The finishing blow, taking the enemy's final stronghold
Day 21: The Victory Song - Entering praise, celebrating breakthrough, and resting in the win

Also includes:
- The Sevenfold Warfare Prayer for the Fasting Woman - a comprehensive warfare prayer using the author's signature seven-step framework (Invocation, Acknowledgment, Weapon Activation, Command, Declaration, Prophetic Strike, Sealing) with 55+ scripture references
- 21-Day War Room Journal Pages - structured daily pages for recording what God is speaking, revealing, and breaking during the fast
- A Complete Guide for Leading a Group Fast - everything a pastor, small group leader, or women's ministry director needs to lead a group through the 21-day devotional, including weekly gathering formats and daily engagement ideas

This devotional is for:
- Women in spiritual warfare who need targeted, scripture-heavy battle strategy
- Intercessors and prayer warriors seeking a structured fasting companion
- Women's ministry leaders looking for a group fast resource
- Survivors of abuse, trauma, and church hurt who are ready to fight for their freedom
- Any woman who has heard God whisper "Arise" and is ready to obey

With over 350 scripture references woven throughout every section, this is not a devotional that mentions the Bible occasionally. It is saturated in the Word of God from the first page to the last. Every teaching, every prayer, every declaration, and every assignment is rooted in scripture.

All proceeds support the ministry work of Warrior Woman International, empowering orphans and widows across East Africa.

The enemy has had his run. Sisera's days are numbered. Deborah is arising. And this time, she has your name.
