A Great Introduction

Call Waiting is an excellent resource to use with youth groups and individuals. This book lays out a basic definition of call that is practical and applicable to daily life, from the first page, through personal narrative, Biblical stories, as well as through simple educational writing, McSwain and Shurden lay out what it means to be called by God to do something, whether it be full time Christian ministry or serving God through a "secular" vocation. This resource also includes reflection questions at the end of each chapter that get the reader thinking about his or her own call, and space to respond to these questions right in the book itself. An appendix that gives suggestions on how to use this book with a youth group, really completes the package, and the suggestions are very good suggestions to boot! All in all, I recommend this to any youth pastor who wants to show his or her youth what it means to be called, whether in individual discipleship meetings, on in a group.
