Great New Author

I'm surprised at the reviewers who stated this had a "rough" beginning or that the story was disjointed. I thought it proceeded smoothly and it grabbed me from the start. I picked the book up on a whim, it was at a book sale. I had a hard time putting it down. It had romance and mystery. I am looking forward to this author's next book and will definitely read it.

Highland Werewolves Oh My!

Ms. Castle has introduced a new spin on the Scottish Stone of Destiny, the Lia Fail and what the stone's power entails. The attraction between Gideon and Carly sizzles the pages with the tantalizing gazes they give each other, let alone their kisses, caress ...you'll have to read the book to know more. Trust me, you'll want these two star- crossed lovers to beat the odds and find true happiness. Ms. Castle's secondary characters are just as memorable, Carly's friend, the gorgeous Ragan and her scrumptious treats she bakes. You'll be endeared to Carly's over protective brothers and demanding Italian mother. Gideon's brother may have a carefree attitude, but when the chips are down, Gabriel has the family's back. I look forward to reading more about the Guardians of the Lia Fail, which the author hints at the end--there is more to come. Well done! Reviewed for PNR Paranormal Romance

Pleasant Surprise

I came across this at my local UBS. Being that I enjoy reading paranormal romances, decided to give this one a whirl. This is a nice entry in the genre. The hero is quite yummy and the heroine is rather likeable. I enjoyed their scenes and interaction back and forth. There are a few secondary characters that I feel will show up in their own books at some point. I guess my only complaint would be the world building could have been a bit more constructed. It read at times more like a mystery and I would have liked some of the werewolf aspects more fully explored. Overall, I enjoyed the book and look forward to further installments in this author's werewolf world.

Call of the Highland Moon - Kendra Leigh Castle

WOW! Can I just say, WOW! I'm in love...with this book. With the whole 'creatures of the dark' thing going on in the publishing world lately, it's hard to find new authors who can put a different, but still intriguing, spin on any of the legends. Ms. Castle has managed to do just that with "Call of the Highland Moon". The follow-on book "Dark Highland Fire" is scheduled for release in Oct 2008 and you can bet it'll be on my to-buy list. Carly is the successful owner of a romance bookstore called 'Bodice Rippers and Baubles'. She's also a sucker for wounded strays. But on a snowy winter's night when she finds a badly injured, really huge wolf?/dog? behind her store and takes him home...she gets way more than she bargained for. Gideon is the future Alpha, but doesn't feel quite ready for all the responsibilities it will bring and feels somehow restless. So, he heads out from his small Scottish valley to see some of the world. The big cities he thought would be so exciting are TOO big, and TOO noisy, and TOO populous for his tastes. Somehow he ends up in a small, rural northern New York town. After he's attacked and badly injured by some rogue werewolves, he crawls off to die...only to be drawn by some incredibly lucious smell to the door of a small shop. If you want to know what happens next, you'll just have to read this book. The author combines, history, legend, Scottish lore, and mystery to give us a new take on what these creatures are and why they exist. Fabulous job...and the hot hero, gutsy heroine and incendiary sex ain't so bad either!!

Can I Please Trade Lives With Carly Silver?!?!

If I could I would actually give this book 4 and a half stars. I fell in love with Carly. I would take her life without a second thought. She is a Romance Book Store owner in a small town. She has a few close friends, a loving family, and a cute little house filled with books. My idea of the perfect life! Of course the addition of the hot Scottish werewolf would be a plus, even with the danger. The reason I ding this book is that sometimes the book gets a little long-winded. I found myself wanting to skip ahead. I didn't and I loved the book to the fullist but that's just how I felt. Carly also had the biggest mood swings. I found myself wondering what she was so mad about now? The passion was great though and the first time they went all the way, well lets just say that it was hot. I don't know about the next book but I loved this one so I will be looking for it. I just hope that Carly and Gideon get the play a role in the next one. I would be heart broken if they are not even in it.
