Call Me Tabatha: What you don't know about Dorcas Gazelle

What if one of the Bible's briefest miracles hid a story as profound as life itself?

Everyone remembers the line: "Peter raised Tabitha from the dead."

But who was she before that moment? And what happened after?

In Call Me Tabatha, acclaimed storyteller David R. Pickett breathes new life into the woman known as Dorcas, Gazelle, Tabitha... a name whispered across centuries yet rarely understood. Through meticulous historical research and imaginative reconstruction, Pickett invites readers into first-century Judea to meet a woman of compassion, courage, and complexity.

Tabatha is no mere footnote of faith. She's a widow, a seamstress, a visionary whose acts of kindness ripple through her community. When fever strikes and her body fails, her story seems to end, until a miracle changes everything. But resurrection is not the end; it's the beginning of a deeper struggle between doubt and devotion, purpose and mortality.

Told with poetic insight and grounded realism, Call Me Tabatha bridges scripture and storytelling, faith and history. It's both a meditation on what it means to live after being given a second chance, and a celebration of a woman whose quiet strength shaped generations.

Perfect for readers who love biblical fiction, historical drama, and inspirational women's stories, this novel dares to ask: What if the smallest story in the Bible was one of its greatest?

"Call Me Tabatha", because even miracles have backstories.
