California Standards take up a lot of room...

I use Harcourt Science for homeschooling and I thought I would get this book because it was less expensive than the Harcourt National version--I wish I hadn't bought this one. For each chapter and lesson, the California standards are listed in the Student Edition. I completely understand having them in the teacher's edition and in a Teacher's edition of the Student Edition. But, it is frustrating to have them in the student edition. They take up a lot of room on the pages and make the pages look a lot busier. One of the things I have most liked about Harcourt's textbooks is the organization of the pages in the books--the text and pictures. But, this book is really busy. If you don't need the copy with the standards in it, I would recommend finding a copy of the national version of this same book--if it's affordable.
