This autumn liturgical calendar is devised to give pastors some idea of what is expected. There are Western practices of the church that differ from Eastern practices, because of the splitting of the Roman Empire, during which period, Constantinople, that is, modern Istanbul in Turkey, was the see of Rome in the East, while the see of Rome in the west was with the pope in the Vatican City, church of Rome, Italy.
