Calcium ion channel and cancer

Calcium ion is very important in maintanance of general cellular functions and it is highly involved in cell cycle due to which calcium is found related with cancer hallmarks, every type of clcium ion channel is involved in certain type of cancers as they are responsible for calcium levels in a cell and any changes in that will lead to malfunctions among all as we can see that mainly the VGCC types plays a key role in cancer . This relation of calcium ion channels with normal cell functioning and cell growth is the reason that we can stimulate these channels, so they can be serve as a therapeutic target for cancer treatment but still a much deeper understanding is required to proceed with calcium channels.
