Rich, Creative, Comic-illustrated History of French Louisiana

This is among the most creative and engaging pieces of Louisiana history I have encountered. It is billed as a 'pictorial history for kids of all ages," and that is true. It is so well-illustrated and clearly written that it would be accessible to most 8 year olds, but this grown up loved it. I also learned a TON. Guy Faucheux is a true master of Louisiana French history, and his brother-in-law Wally Faucheux is an accomplished illustrator. St. Roux's Press did a very fine job of printing this as well. The cover is very attractive, the paper quality is excellent, and the typeface is sharp. The glued binding is sturdy and appropriate to this brief book -- my copy has held up well to repeated readings. Perfectly executed from start to finish. P.S. For stuffier supplemental reading, I'd recommend Alcee' Fortier's various histories (written in the 1890s). Guy Faucheux credits Marcel Giraud's A History of French Louisiana and Carl Brasseaux's France's Forgotten Legion, both well-regarded works.
