Lori Ditmer and Theo Grady have spent a lifetime together. Through thick and thin they've been each other's shoulder to lean on. They share a birthday, a home, bank accounts and even car registrations. They're perfect for each other in every way. The only problem is they've never seen each other as potential romance material. Oh, they've discussed it, even thought long and hard about it, but they've never taken that last, intimate step that would turn their life-long friendship into full-fledged romance. Much to the disappointment of both their mothers. So, Mom Ditmer and Mom Grady decide to take matters into their own hands. They visit Madame Rue's and pick up a little potion for their wayward children. They present their gifts to Lori and Theo at a surprise birthday party, hoping against hope that it'll be the thing that finally makes them see what's right in front of their noses. Love Potion #9 was my first Caitlyn Willows story and what a way to be introduced to a new author! Ms. Willows takes a popular story, one that even borders on being over-done, and puts a fresh, modern spin on it. She adds in characters that are at once easy to relate to and fun to get to know. She sprinkles in a bit of family comedy, stirs in a dose of description that draws the reader into her world, and simmers her concoction over a fire hot enough to scorch the pages. Ms. Willows brews a fascinating potion, leaving me thirsty for more. Ms. Willows has a true talent and Love Potion #9 definitely shouldn't be missed. I highly recommend Love Potion #9 to anyone wanting a light, quick story that will leave them satisfied for hours longer than it takes to read. She is such a master at characterization that even in only a few pages she can make her characters come alive for her reader.
