The novel, in the vein of John Le Carre, is written by one of Germany's best known political thriller writers. Overlooked in the English speaking world, his books are available in English translation. Great cold war feel, great East vs. West vibe in all of his books, including this one. this book was re-released and re-titled "The Cain Conspiracy" to drum up the right audience, thriller readers.
