Café con Leche: [Coffee with Milk]

"Caf con Leche" tells the story of two bi-racial kids that grow up in the racially segregated State of Alabama in the 1960's. They do not know each other but their very different childhoods lead them to an inevitable anger. Tyisha lives through a childhood alone with no love from her family and only survives with the concern of a neighbor. Jeremiah is a gifted athlete and his skills makes his skin color more tolerable to others. By young adulthood, both have become Christians and teach in private Christian schools in the Midwest. Through their jobs, they meet and fall in love. Due to malicious gossip, Tyisha loses her position and she and Jeremiah decide to pursue their marriage at an earlier date than planned. Both are seeking the place their Lord will use them and they decide to be missionaries to indigenous peoples in Peru. The anger that both had felt as children is turned into a profound love for God and the people to whom He lead them. Only forgiveness could set the stage for such a love to grow.
