Sequel to "Don't Whisper in My Ear." Written as a standalone. Cactus Girls is a nice clean adventure story with a twist of mystery and explores what we learn from others on our journey to find ourselves. Girl Power I would recommend this book mainly to high-school girls and boys who are perhaps searching for something in their lives, particularly ones who don't know what they are searching for. The internal dialogue brings up some thoughts that I am confident teenagers are often thinking or wondering about. I think it may also be a good read for mothers or fathers of this age group, as it may give a little insight into things your child is thinking about. - A Goodread reviewer Sandy Kelly's mother would have gone to jail if Sandy had told what she knew. So, for years, Sandy kept quiet and followed her mother, who was always running away. Then one day, her mother was gone. A few months later, Sandy and her best friend Holly traveled out West to see the national parks and into California. But Sandy wasn't just taking a trip to explore the West. Instead, she was driving away to try and rescue herself from her mother's secret and rebuild her shattered life. Will this trip bring her the answers she needs to move on, or will she forever be held back by her mother's secret?
