In Spring 1991, my husband and I took a brief trip to the south of France, to the C te d'Azur and Alpes-Maritime, motivated by the notion of buying a holiday home. In our search for a home, we focussed on properties around Grasse. The object that caught our attention was a village perched beguilingly on the top of a hill. We learned that it was called Cabris en Provence-'le plus jolie balcon de la C te d'Azur'--and when we arrived at the village we were struck by its simple beauty and serenity. We knew it was the place we wanted to be, and found a house that perfectly matched our expectations, near the main square in the Rue des Marechaux. These drawings are in black on white. The preview shows the title of each drawing (on the facing page) followed by the drawing itself.
