Dr. Marvin Happel is the Founder of UAM College as part of one of the largest Universities in Central America. This is a fascinating story of struggle, turmoil, and resolve to become a success and focus on the work to be done in a developing country. The Great Depression put the author into an orphanage and foster homes. Starting as a farm hand and construction worker, he earned a doctorate from Northwestern University and spent a lifetime in teaching and management. His life lived in the latter two-thirds of the 20th century, began with the depression and WWII when the world turned upside down. He was twice on the front lines of the Cold War; seeing it's beginning in Germany in the 50s and it's ending in Nicaragua in 1989. In between in the 60s and 70s, he was caught in the vortex of politics and change in the US. Since 89, he has had a front seat observing an emerging nation struggle with itself. Living and working in a small nation's Capitol, he has rubbed elbows with ambassadors, generals, and presidents. The Publisher discovered Dr. Happel and encouraged him to share his story with the world.
