This is the first comprehensive reference work published on IOStreams. The C++ IOSTREAMS HANDBOOK provides C++ programmers with a broad view of the input-output mechanisms associated with the C++... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I've worked my way through ports of a large software system to several different platforms. I wish I'd had this book up front - it would have saved a lot of work. I'd like to see it updated to reflect the latest C++ standards.
The only book of it's kind!!

This is a must have book. Slightly out of date perhaps but in spite of that very much worth having. Furthermore, this is the only book on IOStreams I have seen. The subject is covered extremely well and in depth. BUY IT!!
A "must have" for any "real" C++ programmer

The only book I have seen that covers the topic in any meaningful way. This book drills right down to the good stuff and presents the material in a practical, easy to understand manner. The only downside is that the book is now a little out of date (still a good buy, though).

This an excellent but dated book on the C++ io stream library. Steve Teale where ever you are, please come home and update your excellent book.
Indispensible IOStreams Reference
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 29 years ago
The material needs updating to reflect the current state of the IOStreams library, and details on some aspects of the library are sketchy or nonexistent, but this is the only book I've been able to find that provides anything close to adequate coverage of the topic. If you write C++ code, this book belongs in your library.
