Java Programmers, Preprare for Microsoft's .NET initiative while enhancing your repertoire and marketability with C# for Java Progammers C# for Java Programmers will prepare readers for the .NET... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I bought this book sometime ago and found it perfect for my needs. i am a intermediate level java programmer and i wanted to enter in windows programming. i tried couple of other books on c# but well....couldnt finish them all..until i bought this one! This is by far the most straightfarword, quick and consise guide for a java programmer. it starts from ground zero and takes you to an intermediate level....the comparison between technologies helps you take advantage of your current java knowledge. All in all, the book is perfect to learn C# without relearning what you know..but here is a warning: the book may not be very fulfilling for an advanced programmer but still it is a good start for anyone!
A superb book

If you're looking for a book that covers it all without bogging you down with impractical details, this is it--the author takes you through .NET technology from the perspective of a Java programmer. There are plenty of good, concise, working examples along with clear and easy-to-follow explanations. All in all, an excellent book written by a very knowledgeable group of people.
Covers it all....

This one covers it all...makes the shift between the two languages as simple as possible. The book is clearly written from the perspective of people who are not only familiar with C# and the .NET platform, but can also sympathize with those of us who feel we have already invested so much time into Java, why switch now? (like you don't already know the answer to that question...come on, it might hurt to admit it but its obvious that everyone has to jump on the MS bandwagon now and then. You don't have to stay on it though ;-). I especially liked the comparison of the applications in the two languages. This was very helpful to me.
