the reason i loved this book is because it recognizes that pospartum weight loss is not isolated from depression, self-esteem and other emotional issues relevant to new moms.it is divided into two parts: the first deals with the reality of what a mom faces during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. it acknowledges that medicine in america has virtually ignored the needs of a postpartum mother. its you-are-not-alone attitude gives new moms "permission" to have an array of feelings during this period, even negative ones.the second part deals with healthy eating and a simple weight loss program based on walking. it explains WHY its program is important and HOW it works.it's obviously written from a woman's point of view with other women in mind. buy it if you can find it!
