By the Light of the Egyptian Sun

By: Nielsen, Klara

Meritaten is the eldest daughter of the pharaoh, Akhenaten, and his royal wife, Nefertiti. Born and raised to be a pharaoh's wife, she dutifully, yet reluctantly, accepts her arranged betrothal to Smenkhkare, her father's co-regent and the next pharaoh of Egypt.

But then she meets Meryre, the High Priest of Aten tasked with preparing the tombs of both pharaoh and his wives. When Meritaten and Meryre meet, sparks fly, and the two plunge into a sordid affair, completely unable to resist one another.

But can their love be enough, or will duty trump all?

By the Light of the Egyptian Sun is a tale of love, power, duty, and what it means to be human.

TWs include graphic depictions of violence and mentions of incest.
