Right of Arms and Carr's other Medieval stories

I have never written a book review before, but I read many, and I have to say that for those lucky souls who adore reading medieval romance that is high quality and worth it's weight in gold...there simply are very few other authors that measure up to Robyn Carr's abilities. If you are one of those lucky individuals that stumbled on her books in your local library, consider yourself blessed!!! You're in for some breath-taking reading, lovely use of the english language, and non-cheesy historical romance (not over-whelmed by sex talk on every page, but Carr's talent puts it in there in just the right dose). There's actual suspense, intrigue, and mystery in the storylines. If you are like me, and continually searching for other authors like her (and most pale in comparison), write to Robyn Carr on her website and BEG her to start writing her "medieval" talents. Mayhap if enough people plead for mercy she will again bring forth her early medieval writing magic in the millenium :o). Either way she deserves major recognition and respect. I hope Hollywood makes a medieval movie using one of her great books someday. My deepest regards Robyn, you are one of a kind in the medieval romance department!

Kudos to Carr

Found this book in the town library years ago and managed to purchase that copy when they were having an old books sale. This writing offers so much more than the bodice rippers taking up shelf space today (and yesterday). The character developement, historical knowledge, and writing skill all combine to deliver a very satisfying read where the ending is a process of believeable action and reaction from all characters--not just the leads. Too bad most libraries would not keep a book this old and that Carr's newer works as not set in the historical past.

Perfect Historical Romance

This is one of those classic historical romances. He is the conquering knight. She if forced to marry him. She fights her attraction. She falls in love. The the author takes her time to tell this story and it is 100% satisfying. Unlike many of the new historical romance writers, Carr's language when writing remains authentic and appropriate to the time period throughout the novel, and you are able to see how it is that the heroine comes to love her knight. I highly recommend this one if you are an avid reading medieval romances.
