By My Own Betrayal

To live is Christ. To die is much more likely.

Raised as a skilled assassin, the young and ambitious Sadie Black knows nothing else; her only way to live is for someone to die. Doing otherwise would betray her sole support network and leave her at the wrong end of a gun-which is exactly where Sadie has landed herself.

Abandoning the life of a hired killer for a new life in Christ, Sadie must work with a self-reliant FBI agent and his cryptic superior to secure her freedom before a vengeful family can steal her back to the career she's desperately running from. Or they execute something a bit more...fatal.

Filled with sarcasm and intrigue, this contemporary faith-based novel proves itself as a must-read for adventure-seeking teens and new adults.

C.S. Lewis said "I can’t imagine a man really enjoying a book and reading it only once," this is one

I love the humour, sarcasm, excitement, action, thrill, deep morals and faith, and cleanness in this book. It was action-packed with some very exciting and intense scenes, though not gory. The author has a witty, playful, and eloquent tone, and the story she writes is full of fun moments, surprises, codes, clues, puzzles, and so much more. I love the strong main character, as well as the contrasting foil and the interesting antagonist. The assassin and FBI are quite a unique mix and add many enjoyable scenarios with playful tension. It's also amazing how it is completely clean morally, language-wise, romantically, and in every other way. The plot twists and high stakes keep you on the edge of your seat, with a very grand finale. Please read it; it is exhilarating! Great for mature kids (about 10-12+ yrs) who can handle some gunshots and and mention of blood (mildly described wounds). It is very appropriate and wholesome literature. A good book for fans of Sigmund Brouwer, with the same excitement, faith, and overall quality of story.
