An inspiring story of triumph over child abuse

A true story that reads like fiction, "By Hook or by Crook" tells a compelling, inspiring story of two children who survived the trauma of child abuse. I particularly liked the upbeat quality of the book which shows how the author and her sister triumped over the terrible conditions of their childhood. The book kept me in constant suspense, as the children went from one unhappy situation to another.
