Since I enjoy researching our family genealogy, I enjoyed this book, which combines genealogy research with a history of the early Christian church.
Emigraton to the New World and Why They Did It

First, you should know that Bill Griffeth is my cousin - his dad and mine were brothers. I became a Neslund by adoption, and will forever honor my Neslund parents for nourishing another family's "extra" child. But adoptees often grow up wondering who they "really" are. Bill's book has given me a window into my Griffeth family history that is fascinating, detailed with personal touches, and moves down through the many branches and twigs of great-great-great (etc.) grandfathers and grandmothers of the family tree. There are several surprising events in the family history, including a family member being burned at the stake in Salem, Massachusetts and a branch of the family joining Joseph Smith and the early Mormon church and later traveling west to help found that church's presence in Utah. Many families in America have similar stories to tell, including engagements - both friendly and otherwise - with the Native Americans, ancestors fighting in the War of the Revolution, and the uncivil Civil War - sometimes serving on both sides against each other - and the great migration from east to west. Cousin Bill has detailed the suffering our fore-fathers and -mothers made so that we can enjoy the freedoms we now have. It goes without saying, I highly recommend this book!

Excellent Book. Well written and good topic coverage by an excellent CNBC favorite. Bill G. did good job of bringing personal family history into today's world. Recommended reading for anyone involved in their own family genealogy.
Family genealogists you've got to read this one!

Great story of one man's journey to find his family roots. Lucky me, one of the families is related to me also. I liked the book so much, I bought a second copy to give to another family member who is "in" to genealogy.
Fascinating Reading

Excellent history of the foundation of America. In this time of "political correctness" when any mention of Christianity is being deleted from public use we need to remember that this country was founded on religious principles. Bill Griffith's research into his family's history is really impressive.
