My close friend has similar income as I. When we retired (I retired at least 10 years earlier), I had about four times his total equity. The main reason is I followed this time-honored "Buy Low, Sell High" strategy.Before 2000, market timing is a waste of time. Since then, it is critical to your financial health. The average loss of the last two market crash is about 45%. My simple technique described in this book does not require any charting or any subscription/tool. It does not detect the peaks and bottoms but it would have saved you a lot of money in exiting and reentering the market. Most likely it will detect the next crash. Value stocks need time (at least 6 months) for the market to realize their values. Do not marry with a stock.
