Beautifully Written Story of Adolescent Hope

This short novel is an amazing read. It draws you into the main character's world immediately and allows you to understand her thought processes and her emotions. The language is very visual -- you can "see" the settings and actions unfold before you. There are several scenes in which members of the family are enjoying a meal or snack, and the descriptions actually made me hungry. You find yourself desperately wanting this young woman to succeed in her quest to save her parents' marriage. You are very much "there" with her as she creatively weaves plans to help make harmony in her family, and you agonize with her when things go wrong. It is a remarkable story written with remarkable skill.
