My inspirational idea for "Casting Shadows" happened on a hot sunny Summer day. While walking along the rocky East bank of the Mississippi river a yellow swallowtail butterfly landed next to me on a smooth stone. She opened her wings casting a shadow, a perfect silhouette. The first coloring book with cast shadows, creating depth in the layers.
