Nearly everyone has done this. We meet someone and become so fascinated by them that well stop at nothing to develop a closer relationship. But what if that relationship turns out to be a nightmare? Generally, two people start out close and the entire world appears beautiful. However, occasionally, one of the partners uses the other to their own advantage, causing hurt feelings and desperate measures. The couple in Butterfly Girl is a classic example. When Daryl first met Samoy, she was his dream come true, or so he thought. Everything about her seemed perfect. However, as time went by, he discovered things about this woman that were beyond his wildest imagination, or his deepest fears. Yes, a relationship which seems to be made in heaven can eventually turn to a life of hell and even tragedy. Darolle Abel cleverly tells this tale with a lesson embedded in the story, which is: be careful what you wish for; you just might receive it.
