This tender story was inspired by the courageous spirit of the "butterfly children," the boys and girls battling a rare disease known as Epidermolysis Bullosa, EB. Children with EB have skin as delicate as butterfly wings. Many live in constant pain, yet they get up each day and keep flying. Ali's friend Ella lives with EB, and she inspired the story.
