Stephanie Haveman's debut of her first poetry book titled Butterflies and Guitars is a collection of poems about trauma, addiction, recovery, heartbreak, and love. The contents of the book are based on the author's personal experiences as a recovering addict and survivor of trauma. The poems aim to give readers an honest and vulnerable glimpse into the author's life before, during, and after recovery from drug and alcohol addiction and living with and healing from the aftermath of traumatic experiences. In the poems, Haveman shares her feelings of despair, moments of clarity, and hard lessons she learned along the way. The book serves as both a source of comfort and motivation for those struggling with similar issues, as well as an important reminder that despite the darkness, there is hope and light. It's been discussed in several media that her way of writing is already healing for the reader. She's so far the only one that offers to be there for her readers through her social media, if they need a shoulder to lean on or to reflect or just simply have someone who will listen to them.
